Bakersfield High swept the boys 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters at the CIF Central Section South Area Championships at Bakersfield Liberty High. Jacob Yagers won the 1,600 in 4:17.57, followed by Matthew Berry in 4:24.01 and Jacob McNitt in 4:26.48. McNitt won the 3,200 in 10:04.40, Berry secured second in 10:07.46 and Yagers took third in 10:10.43, as all three athletes qualified for both events June 19 at the Central Section Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High in Clovis.
